It took forever, omg. It's so heartwarming and hilarious to see which parts he finds the funniest. The experience seems to have made a big impact on him. I hope this helped him in some way. Even Stevens is probably my personal all time favorite early 2000s Disney Channel show. :)?<br>Seeing this, I should've watched that live stream. I think Shia's an okay guy and this is intensely humanizing, I love it. <br>Agreed. Lots of fun!<br>It's strange, I can't tell if he is really just an ego maniac in love with himself, or just a guy who's been thru the Hollywood ringer and found a way to deal, and is actually a down to earth broski. Either way, he's doing a good job of developing his name and brand into something beloved<br>I don't know why, but I get the feeling it's the latter. I think he likes doing weird stuff just for the fun of it. I comes off to me as a pretty cool guy.<br>I met him once in a dive bar outside of Detroit. He's pretty quiet, a little odd, but mostly just a hipster broski. He and his group were pretty unassuming, and nobody really seemed to bother him.
My only direct interaction with him was when we were trying to pay our tabs at the bar. We talked about the shitty service, and left slightly sub-par tips as a result. He made a joke about not tipping by drawing a giant zero on the tip line, but it was his customer copy.<br>what a broski<br>It's someone you'd have a brewski with.<br>From interviews it's definitely the latter. He admits he's done weird shit in an attempt to just find artistic clarity after basically being put under a microscope since he was like 12.<br>id have to assume watching this also reminded him of a much simpler time in his life.<br>Everything I see about him makes me think he is just horribly, horribly depressed. <br>These highlight videos definitely made me a bigger fan of Shia. Still though, who wants to watch ~48 hours of a guy watching movies, and you can't even see the movies.<br>Some people were streaming them online side by side, so you could watch it with him.<br>I think he's probably an ok dude, I just think he's fairly pretentious.<br>What makes him pretentious to you?<br>I'm gonna get so much shit for this....
Ok, so remember when he did that performance art display? He sat in a room and allowed lines of people to come in and, privately, take photos or yell at him with props from his lesser movies, that kind of thing? Well there was an incident where a female came in, used the whip from a Indy 4 on him, and allegedly raped him.
Horrible situation. Traumatic and terrible. But the part I take issue with is that he could, at any time, have stopped it.
He didn't have to get raped. He could have ended the situation but the performance was in taking whatever was dished out to him.
This is a larger instance that is muddy because it's horrible but also an example of him being pretentious. And it was, it was very pretentious. But there are other instances like this such as his attempt at methods acting and such.
I'm going to get wrecked with downvotes for this but...if you get raped because you refuse to stop your performance art then not only do I see you as pretentious but I seriously worry about your mental state. <br>does it count as rape when you say "do whatever you want to me and i wont stop you"? sounds like consent to me.<br>I guess. no it wouldnt. he said you can do whatever you want to him. if he changed his mind and said stop and she didnt then that would be rape, but it doesnt sound like thats what happened.<br>It isn't and I agree. Go say that to a rape victim. I'll see you in the hospital.<br>We're not talking about a standard rape victim. We're talking about someone who sat and took it for performance art, to not break character, and then tried to file charges.
I think the woman who did this to him is despicable. I also think it's seriously worrying that he let it go without even struggling. You should read his description of the event, she told him to do things like strip and such and he did those things because that was the performance, the thing it was about.
I think comparing what happened to him to the experience of almost any other rape victim is a mistake because all he had to do was refuse and walk out. He submitted for a performance.

And he's been churning out a ton of films. <br>let's hope that changes with the Tommy Wiseau movie he's making. The book its based on is genuinely hilarious and uplifting (in a weird way). One of the biggest things I learned while getting my writing degree is how easy it is to get a writing degree.<br>I'm a junior. Do I even need this? To one day get the other degree that leads to the only paycheck, I guess...<br>I double majored in creative writing and advertising so it's usefulness wasn't a big concern for me, although I certainly do benefit from being a little more trained as a writer.
I don't really know your situation so it's hard to speak to it's usefulness, but I will say it was my favorite part of my education and I wouldn't trade it for anything.<br>I'm double majoring in writing and music comp and I just severely injured my spine.
